Nome Public Schools is a rural, city school district offering a 9 month long teaching position. New teachers will report for new teacher in-service on or about August 18th. Nome Public Schools is a learning community of 600 students and 50 teachers. Candidates must possess an Alaska Initial Teacher Certification or an Alaska Professional Teacher Certification with appropriate endorsement(s), or able to qualify for such by the first day of school.

Preferred Skills: Early Childhood license and Experience

Prior successful Alaskan teaching experience.

Experience delivering intensive Reading instruction.

Dynamic skills in culturally relevant education practices.

Skills with parent and community relations.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of effective assessment methods.
