Summary

The Early Childhood Floater plays a vital support role within our academy by assisting in multiple classrooms and providing care for children ranging from infants to preschool age. This position is ideal for an experienced and caring educator who thrives in a dynamic environment and is comfortable stepping into various roles throughout the day.

Duties

  • Provide classroom coverage and support for lead and assistant teachers across different age groups (infants through preschool).
  • Build positive, caring relationships with children and maintain a nurturing environment that encourages learning and development.
  • Assist in implementing age-appropriate lessons, activities, and routines as directed by classroom teachers or the director.
  • Ensure the safety, hygiene, and wellbeing of children at all times, including during meals, diapering/potty training, nap time, and outdoor play.
  • Follow daily schedules and classroom routines to maintain consistency and structure for the children.
  • Adapt quickly to different classrooms and teaching styles while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
  • Assist in cleaning, organizing, and resetting classrooms as needed to ensure a safe and welcoming learning space.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with staff, children, and families.
  • Comply with state licensing requirements, school policies, and safety guidelines.


Requirements

  • High School Diploma at minimum; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a licensed childcare center or early education program.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Ability to work with all age groups and adjust to different classroom environments.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to teamwork and flexibility.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
