Early Childhood Special Education Teacher on Early Intervention Team

RESPONSIBILITIES Reports to appropriate special education supervisory staff and principals.
Provides support and special education services to students in the Early Intervention program.
Perform necessary assessment and evaluation procedures for special education students.
Conduct home or community site visits using coaching and evidenced based early intervention practices.
Provide an individualized family service plan for infants/toddlers and their caregivers based upon needs identified by evaluation.
Follow necessary due process procedures and case management responsibilities, including following the Primary Service Provider model.
Be an advocate for students/families and assist in carrying out department and school district goals.
Collaborate with Early Learning and district colleagues, other specialists and outside agencies.
Communicate with IFSP team members and families/caregivers.
Active engagement in professional development opportunities.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree
Current Minnesota Early Childhood Special Education lic
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and get up and down from the floor independently.
The employee must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive themselves to and from homes/community sites within the district boundaries.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds for students who are wheelchair-bound and students with other special needs.
