Summary
The 4K Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in creating and maintaining a developmentally appropriate, safe, and engaging classroom environment for four-year-olds. This individual plays a key role in implementing lesson plans, guiding children's behavior, and ensuring a collaborative, respectful teaching environment where both educators work as a unified team.
Duties
Requirements
High School Diploma and ECD 101 at minimum required or at least willing to pursue ECD 101 within 6 months of employment
Associate’s Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a licensed early childhood program, preferably in a preschool or 4K classroom.
CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Ability to work collaboratively, share responsibilities, and maintain a positive attitude.
Reliable and punctual, with strong communication and organizational skills.
Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate practices.

Duties
- Support the Lead Teacher in planning and delivering developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that align with curriculum standards and support school readiness.
- Maintain a nurturing and structured environment where children feel safe, respected, and encouraged to grow.
- Assist with classroom management, supervision, and engagement during academic lessons, free play, meals, rest time, and outdoor activities.
- Share daily responsibilities equally, including preparing materials, cleaning, organizing, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Help monitor and document children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues in a positive and professional manner.
- Adapt to changes in the daily schedule or classroom needs with a flexible and team-oriented mindset.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions as required.
- Uphold state licensing standards and all Kinder Joy policies and procedures.
