SALARY
The minimum salary is  $18.286 per hour This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable. Pay Grade 512

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this position is to assist Early Child Care Teachers in the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum in accordance with state and national accreditation standards.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Associate's degree in early childhood education, early childhood development, education for primary (K-4), kindergarten education, human sciences, individual and family studies, nursing, speech therapy, counseling, social work, or physical and occupational therapy or valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
One (1) year of related early childhood experience
Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
Additional years of education in any of the aforementioned fields may substitute for years of experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Meets the daily needs of children while supporting the individuals social-emotional, physical, language, and academic development
Provides a safe, healthy, and positive learning environment
Provides input on the creation and implementation of lesson plans; assists with classroom observations and assessments; and, completes paperwork to include classroom attendance, time submission, and incident reports
Communicates with children's parent(s) or guardian(s) about daily activities, behaviors, and other relative information
Fulfills other administrative and support duties as requested
Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
All certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.
Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certifications must be obtained within first six (6) months of employment
Must complete the following training required by 922 KAR, Chapter 2:
Orientation 1 and 2 within the first three (3) months of employment
Pediatric Head Trauma training within the first six (6) months of employment
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must comply with all certifications and/or training requirements in accordance with 922 KAR, Chapter 2 - Day Care.
Prior to employment, all positions require:
Drug testing and background check and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
In accordance with 922 KAR, Chapter 2:
TB skin testing,
Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) check,
Fingerprint-based National background check, and
National and State sex offender registry checks.
