A contract position is available for a Dyslexia Teacher serving K-12 students in Austin, TX, with a typical schedule from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. This role focuses on providing targeted instruction and fostering self-advocacy for approximately 20 students with dyslexia, utilizing specialized programs such as Basic Language Skills or Reading by Design. Key Responsibilities: Deliver effective, evidence-based instruction tailored to dyslexic students. Promote self-advocacy skills to empower student learning and independence. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of student progress. Actively participate in ARD meetings, confidently presenting updates and educational findings. Collaborate with educational staff to support individualized student goals. Qualifications: Valid Texas Department of Education teaching license. Minimum of two years of experience working with students diagnosed with dyslexia. Proficient in instructional methods such as Reading by Design or Basic Language Skills. Strong documentation and communication skills necessary for ARD meetings.
