A full-time Itinerant Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students is needed for a K-12 educational setting. This contract position spans the next school year, providing specialized instructional support across multiple locations within the district. The role is based in Fairfax, VA, offering an opportunity to impact the educational experiences of students with hearing impairments. Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualized and small group instruction tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, ensuring accessibility to the general curriculum. Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to develop and implement appropriate educational plans and accommodations. Provide assessments and ongoing progress monitoring to support student growth. Use specialized communication methods and assistive technologies effectively. Travel between schools to provide itinerant services throughout the district. Qualifications and Experience: Certification or licensure in Education of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. Experience teaching DHH students in a K-12 environment. Strong knowledge of assistive listening devices, American Sign Language (ASL), and related educational strategies. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
