Job Title: Virtual Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students Louisiana (Remote) Location: Fully Remote Must be certified in the state of Louisiana Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (Flexible Contracts Available) Position Overview: We are currently hiring a dedicated and certified Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to join our remote education team. This is a fully online position serving K12 students throughout Louisiana. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about virtual instruction and committed to supporting the academic and communication needs of students with hearing impairments. This role allows you to work from home while playing a crucial role in student development and accessibility in education. Primary Responsibilities: Provide specialized virtual instruction to students with hearing loss across various grade levels Adapt lessons to support language acquisition, auditory training, and communication goals Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state guidelines Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and services Participate in virtual meetings, parent conferences, and professional learning sessions Minimum Qualifications: Valid Louisiana teaching certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education Bachelors or Masters degree in Deaf Education or a closely related field Experience working with DHH students, particularly in virtual or blended environments Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods used in deaf education Comfortable using digital tools and online platforms for instruction and communication Organized, self-motivated, and effective in a remote setting Preferred Skills & Experience: Previous experience managing virtual IEPs and compliance processes Knowledge of accessibility tools and online instructional strategies for DHH learners Bilingual in English and ASL is a plus Familiarity with Louisiana education systems and online school protocols What We Offer: 100% remote work with flexible scheduling options Competitive pay based on experience and certification A collaborative virtual team environment Opportunities for ongoing training, mentorship, and career development A chance to directly impact the educational journey of students who are deaf or hard of hearing For direct consideration, reach out to Alanna with Vocovision at (770) 882-2031.
