An educational opportunity is available for a part-time Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students within a K-12 school setting in Indianapolis, IN. Key responsibilities include:
Providing specialized instruction to a small caseload of 4-5 students with hearing loss
Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with student needs and state standards
Collaborating with general education teachers, audiologists, and support staff to ensure effective communication access and learning accommodations
Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly
Utilizing assistive technologies and communication methods such as sign language or auditory-verbal techniques as appropriate
Maintaining accurate records and participating in evaluation meetings throughout the school year
Qualifications and desired experience:
Certification or licensure in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education or related special education area
Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
Knowledge of communication modes and assistive devices utilized by hearing-impaired students
Strong collaborative skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and families
