Position Information Posting Number: 0601214-NC Position Type: Faculty Pools Position Title: Creative Drama for Teachers Instructor, Part-time [Applicant Pool] Employment Requirement Not Applicable Division/Department: Education, Human Development & Family Sciences Location Albany Campus, Albany, OR Job Summary: Faculty is responsible for teaching pre-service education students the ED 240 course: Creative Drama for Teachers. Faculty are assigned sections based on varying needs that arise through the year. Classes are taught in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face, virtually, and asynchronously, depending on availability and student needs. Education and Experience: Masters degree in Theater, Fine Arts, Performance, Education, HDFS, or a related field.
Experience teaching in a K-12 environment, or a demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge to pre-service teachers and educators about how the dramatic arts intersect with K-12 curriculum and instruction. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated commitment to student-centered principles and an understanding of the community college mission.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse individuals, including faculty, staff, and students.
Demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Preferred Qualifications: Prefer recent college teaching experience, working knowledge of computer software and Learning Management Systems.
Experience working, interning, or volunteering in a theater setting or other dramatic arts settings.
Experience with different modalities of instruction, including synchronous and asynchronous online learning.
Expertise or experience in teaching from a social justice perspective. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Requires the ability to work with staff and students.Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards. Essential Duties: Teach ED 224: Creative Drama for Teachers courses.
Prepare and develop materials for classes utilizing approved course outcomes.
Assign and grade student work; report student attainment of course outcomes.
Keep abreast of development in subject area and educational technology, innovative teaching techniques, and continuously strive for professional improvement.
Establish and maintain opportunities for reasonable and consistent out-of-class contact with students.
Exemplify and promote work within the mission of LBCC.
Work effectively with students and staff of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and ages. Promote both a classroom environment and a curriculum of equity and inclusivity.
Interact with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as part of a team.
