Computer Science Teacher (Grades 6-8)-Long-Term Substitute

Responsibilities include:
- Teaching computer science and digital literacy to students in grades 6-8
- Creating and implementing lesson plans that foster student interest and growth in areas such as coding, robotics, digital citizenship, and computational thinking
- Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Collaborating with grade-level and related arts teams to support student learning
- Communicating regularly with families and staff regarding student progress
- Assessing student understanding and adjusting instruction accordingly
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; degree in Computer Science, Education, or related field preferred
- Massachusetts teaching license (Digital Literacy & Computer Science 5-12 or Technology/Engineering) preferred, but not required
- Experience working with middle school students preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Familiarity with platforms such as Scratch, Code.org, Google Workspace, and other educational technology tools is a plus
