We're seeking a Special Education Teacher to join a K5 intensive autism program designed for students who require a high level of structure, support, and individualized attention. In this role, youll lead a small, specialized classroom focused on building essential communication, social-emotional, academic, and life skills. What You'll Do: Create and deliver personalized learning plans through IEPs tailored to each student's goals Develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) based on student data and team input Provide hands-on, structured learning using evidence-based approaches like TEACCH, sensory integration techniques, and visual supports Guide students through calming strategies and de-escalation, including CPI/NCI protocols Collaborate with a team of support professionals, paraprofessionals, therapists, and families Foster a safe, predictable, and empowering classroom environment What You Bring: A valid Colorado Special Education Teaching License Experience working in high-needs autism classrooms or self-contained special education settings Knowledge of autism-specific supports and interventions Confidence in supporting students with behavioral and communication challenges Flexibility, empathy, and a true commitment to student growth Bonus Skills (Preferred but Not Required): Bilingual (Spanish/English) communication skills Familiarity with AAC devices and alternative communication strategies Experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary team setting Position Details: Dates: August 11, 2025 May 21, 2026 Schedule: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week Caseload: K5 students in an intensive autism support classroom Setting: Single campus, self-contained program
