Pine Lake Prep, a North Carolina top-rated public charter school, is seeking a charismatic and motivated Chorus Teacher (grades 6 - 12). The Chorus Teacher is responsible for instructing Middle and Upper School students in the field of choral music, motivating them to develop an interest in and an appreciation of the art of music. There is the possibility of this being a full-time or part-time position.

Essential functions of the position include:

Develop knowledge, skills and talents of students in the field of music, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques appropriate to students' interests and abilities. Develop clear and concise instructional lesson plans and organize class time to provide a balanced program of preparation, instruction and rehearsal time. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior and create a safe, orderly and effective environment for learning during practice, rehearsals and musical performances. Fulfilling professional roles and responsibilities, and adhering to legal and ethical requirements of the profession.

Desirable applicants will hold a B.A./B.S. degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field of teaching. Candidates must possess an in-depth knowledge of choral music techniques and skills. The candidate will be required to uphold standards set by the NC Department of Public Instruction.
