The Early Learning Campus at Madison College is seeking a Child Care & Development Coordinator (Teacher) for its expanding campus center. This position involves planning and implementing a consistent, high-quality early care and education program in a developmentally appropriate learning environment, including individualized programming as needed. Responsibilities include conducting child assessments and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years at the College’s Early Learning Campus.
The Child Care & Development Coordinator (Teacher) ensures overall classroom success and compliance and supervises the work of assigned student staff, work-study students, student interns, and student teachers. They also direct any casual employees assigned to their classroom and prepare and lead parent/teacher conferences.
This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position, with varying hours between 7:30am- 5:00pm.

Accountabilities:
Develops and implements learning experiences by co-planning activities that support children’s growth, fostering a classroom environment that encourages developmentally appropriate learning and socialization.
Supports individualized child development by addressing cultural, socio-economic, emotional and physical needs to adapt teaching methods to each child’s learning style and pace.
Maintains health and safety standards, completes routine classroom cleaning and follows sanitation protocols for food preparation, toys and bedding to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
Ensures accurate and up-to-date child assessment records by documenting observations and developmental progress to inform lesson planning and communication with parents.
Builds positive partnerships with parents by exchanging information through informal conversations, newsletters and conferences to support children’s development both at home and in the classroom.
Provides guidance by offering support and supervision to student workers, interns and student teachers to enhance their learning and classroom effectiveness.
Contributes to an inclusive, equitable and supportive environment where everyone at the institution feels valued, respected and empowered to reach their full potential.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development theories.
Knowledge of health, safety and sanitation regulations related to early childhood environments.
Skill in assessing child development, documenting progress and using observations to inform lesson planning and parent communication.
Skill in applying consistent implementation of child guidance techniques.
Ability to create and maintain a nurturing, developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
Skill in engaging positively with all populations and communities, contributing to a safe and inclusive learning and work environment.
Skill in effectively and respectfully communicating with others.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Associate’s degree or two-year technical diploma in Child Development, Early Childhood Development, or related field
Experience:
One (1) year work experience teaching young children in a licensed and accredited early childhood education setting.
WI Early Childhood Registry as Child Care Teacher or higher certificate preferred, or ability to secure certification within the first six (6) months of employment
CPR/1st Aid Certifications
Prior to Hire: Satisfactory status in the DCF/DOJ fingerprint background check prior to hire and every 5yrs as well as annual DOJ name-based background checks
Upon Hire: Satisfactory completion of DCF physical exam.
