California Certified Mild/Moderate Special Education Teacher - Virtual

Overview
Our client in Vallejo, CA is seeking a virtual special education teacher who will support high school students with mild to moderate disabilities.
*You MUST hold an active California teaching license with a Mild/Moderate Disabilities endorsement and reside in California to qualify for this opportunity.*
Schedule
Monday-Friday
You'll work 6.5 hours each day students are in session following our client's school year calendar.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities and Duties Commit to ongoing professional development in the spirit of continuous improvement
Develop appropriate lesson plans, assignments, and assessments in conjunction with the CA State Standards
Work closely with school leaders and the special education department to analyze student assessment data to measure progress and use data to inform instruction
Collaborate in grade level teams to discuss student work, share best practices, plan events for joy and humor, and ensure student mastery of standards
Engage families in their children's education by building relationships and maintaining regular communication.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree, required
Minimum of one year of experience working with special education children in an academic environment, required
Current California teaching license in Special Education with a Mild/Moderate Disabilities endorsement, required
Current California residency, required; Residing near the Vallejo-area, preferred
Commitment to and experience working with underserved communities
Determination to drive student achievement and set high expectations for all students

Compensation
Up to $40 hourly/6.5 hour workday/Mon-Friday
