This opportunity is for a Special Education teacher specializing in Autism to provide support in a middle school setting from October 27th, 2025 through March 13th, 2026. This contract position covers a maternity leave and focuses on serving students in grades 6 through 8. Responsibilities include: Delivering specialized instruction tailored to students with autism spectrum disorder and other special education needs Developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) aligned with student goals Collaborating with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly Maintaining accurate documentation and communication with families and school personnel Qualifications and Desired Experience: Valid teaching certification in Special Education or relevant endorsement in Autism spectrum disorders Experience working with middle school students (grades 6-8) diagnosed with autism or other special education needs Strong knowledge of best practices and evidence-based instructional strategies for autism Ability to manage a caseload and coordinate individualized supports effectively Excellent communication and collaboration skills Location: Trenton, NJ This contract role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact during a critical leave period while gaining experience in a dynamic middle school environment.
