Qualifications: Preferred: Associate Degree in Early Education, Child Development, or related field and at least one-year experience working with young children in a group setting. Required: High school diploma or equivalent and one-year experience working with young children in a group setting. Be WVSTARS eligible and willing to complete registration, pre-service (one time) and a minimum of 15 applicable STARS training hours must be completed and maintained, yearly.

Responsibilities: Maintain effective supervision and model appropriate behavior, including social skills, proper hygiene, and enthusiasm for learning. Assist in the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate lesson plans, developmental assessment, and maintaining a positive and enriching classroom environment. Follow appropriate steps in order to report any suspected abuse/neglect or concerns, as required by law. Assist with maintaining relevant records and paperwork for the site sign-in/out sheets, daily census, cleaning logs, etc. Training as required by licensing including but not limited to; child abuse/ neglect detection, first aid and CPR, CPI, Food Handlers, and STARS. Complete required human resources checks including but not limited to; WVCARES background checks, CPS, physicals, TB/PPD risk assessment etc. Attend staff meetings and supervision meetings with Program Director, as scheduled. Flexibility in hours and days to allow for programming needs.

Schedule: 28 hours per week, part-time during the school year, summers off. Opportunity to work in our residential facility during holidays and summer months. Monday - Friday
