Position Overview: We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Assistant Teacher to join our Younger 2’s classroom (ages 18–24 months). This role is perfect for someone who enjoys supporting young toddlers through their daily routines, developmental milestones, and big emotions. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with the Lead Teacher to maintain a nurturing environment that encourages exploration, social-emotional growth, and independence—while also helping keep the classroom organized and engaging. Key Responsibilities: Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily routines, activities, and lesson plans.
Assist with transitions, meals, toileting, and nap time in a calm and caring manner.
Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
Build positive, trusting relationships with children through warm and responsive interactions.
Observe children’s behavior and development and report observations to the Lead Teacher.
Communicate positively and professionally with children, staff, and families.
Help reinforce classroom rules, structure, and age-appropriate expectations.
Assist in ensuring compliance with all licensing and safety regulations.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required
Experience working with toddlers (18–24 months) in a group setting preferred
Ability to take direction, follow routines, and support classroom structure
Patient, dependable, and flexible with a strong team spirit
CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
Ability to lift 30 lbs and actively engage with children throughout the day
