Job Title: Assistant Preschool Teacher Location: Los Angeles, CA, US Qualifications: Applicants must possess over 6 ECE units to be eligible for this role. Employer: Fruit of the Vine Child Development Center Job Summary: Reporting to the Lead Preschool Teacher, the Assistant Preschool Teacher is responsible for providing direct care and supervision to children at the center. Experience Requirements: The Assistant Preschool Teacher must have a minimum of 6 months of experience working in a childcare center or with groups of children under the age of 5. Responsibilities: Duties: • Perform classroom routines. • To be responsible for the safety and physical well-being of all children. • To ensure that children are taken to interesting parts of the environment, or have interesting things brought to them. • To ensure that personal contact between the caregiver and child is always followed. • To ensure that food preparation, feeding and toilet areas are cleaned after each use. • To follow a regular schedule for cleaning walls, floors and rugs, tables and have a schedule posted. • To follow a regular schedule for cleaning bedding. • To keep all children’s records. • Needs and services forms are in each child’s form. • To keep all childcare teachers records. • To do daily routine health check when child arrives in the center. • Other duties as needed. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: • The Assistant Teacher shall have an Assistant Teacher Permit or Associates Degree. Other Considerations: • The Assistant Teacher must be able to perform light physical work and have the ability to lift and carry children weighing 14 to 30 pounds. The Assistant Teacher will be required to bend, crouch, lift, kneel and other light physical activity as they address the needs of the student (e.g., diaper changing, toileting, cleaning, etc.). The person in this position is responsible for maintaining performance under pressure, and handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and to the organization.
