Our supportive team of educators and engaging classroom environment empower students to achieve their highest potential.*Position Overview:*We are seeking an experienced and passionate *AP English Language and/or Literature Teacher* to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a dynamic instructor with a deep understanding of AP curriculum standards, strong classroom management skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching.*Key Responsibilities:** Teach AP English Language and/or AP English Literature to students in 1-on-1 settings* Develop lesson plans aligned with the College Board framework* Prepare students for the AP Exam through targeted instruction and practice tests* Guide students on researching, writing, and submitting essays to large writing/essay competitions* Provide feedback on writing assignments and help students develop critical thinking and rhetorical analysis skills* Track student progress and communicate with parents/guardians as needed* Collaborate with other instructors and center staff to enhance student outcomes*Qualifications:** Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred)* 2+ years of experience teaching AP English Language or Literature* Strong familiarity with AP scoring rubrics and exam formats* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Ability to engage with and inspire students from diverse backgrounds* Previous experience in a tutoring or enrichment center is a plus* Previous experience with writing or essay competitions is a plus.*Schedule & Location:** Flexible schedule (afternoons, evenings, and weekends available)* In-person instruction at our center in Rancho Palos Verdes*Why Join Us?** Supportive and collaborative team culture* Opportunities for professional growth and curriculum development* Engaged and enthusiastic students* Clean, welcoming, and well-equipped learning environmentJob Types: Part-time, ContractPay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hourExpected hours: 5 – 15 per weekWork Location: In person
