About the Role
As a DHH Teacher, you will provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This includes developing individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with school staff and families, and using assistive technologies or American Sign Language (ASL) to ensure access to curriculum and communication. Your work will focus on both academic and language development, helping students thrive in inclusive or specialized settings depending on their needs.
Qualifications (Virginia)
Applicants must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field, along with a valid Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Hearing Impairments. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is often required, and prior experience working in educational settings is preferred.
