The Richmond Neighborhood Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the our community through our innovative youth programs at ten local schools, robust food security programs, accessible wellness classes, and community events and activities. For over 40 years, we've worked tirelessly to nurture this diverse San Francisco neighborhood and foster respect for all people.
*About the Role*
Activity Leaders have a major role in working with our youth within our afterschool programs. The Activity Leader's main responsibilities include, but are not limited to, planning and leading enrichment activities, assisting with homework, and leading field trips for a group of up to 20 middle school students. Activity Leaders are also trusted to ensure that our programs are a safe space for all youth, and supervise all participants to ensure the safety of our students.
*Key Responsibilities:*
_*This position will be responsible for a variety of duties, including, but not limited to:*_
* Lead daily enrichment activities (e.g: STEAM, arts and crafts, cooking, sports) for up to twenty students. * Facilitate academic help during designated homework time, and develop individualized plans for students who do not require homework support. * Ensure active supervision of students during all program activities, including snack, enrichment, and recreation. * De-escalate conflicts between students and address harm through restorative conversations. * Actively attend and engage in weekly staff meetings, and ongoing training sessions, remaining fully present and minimizing distractions. * Lead field trips, off campus activities, and cross-site collaborations with prior approval of the Program Manager.

*Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*
*~~Must Haves:*
* Minimum one year experience with middle school youth * A diverse experience with various hobbies, activities, and interests, especially in the areas of STEM, art, and/or sports * Ability to write detailed lesson plans aligned with overall learning objectives * Strong problem-solving experience * Flexible, and patient and highly collaborative * Critical Consciousness: Able to weave equity and cultural relevance into all aspects of planned activities. Able to plan and facilitate programming intentionally. Understanding of marginalized communities * Authorization to work in the United States, with out visa sponsorship

* Familiarity with Restorative Practices * First Aid/CPR Certified * Former SFUSD students (especially from Richmond District schools) encouraged to apply
*Requirements For All Staff:*

Must meet SFUSD Instructional Aide Requirements: An Associate's degree or higher OR Official transcripts reflecting 48 college units and a high school diploma/equivalent OR Completion of CBEST and a high school diploma/equivalent. * *DOJ Live Scan Fingerprinting:* All employees who have contact with youth under the age of 18 must be fingerprinted under procedures established by the DOJ. We cannot employ any individual who has been convicted of a serious or violent felony, as defined by the California Penal Code. The organization also receives updated information from the DOJ during employment. Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records on a case by case basis. * *TB Test:* Every employee who has regular contact with youth is required to have a current tuberculin skin test or an X-ray examination of the lungs (with a negative result) prior to reporting for duty. * *Employment Authorization:* Employees must be able to prove that they are authorized to work in the United States using any of the documentation allowed according to current I-9 processes. * *Covid-19 Vaccination: *SFUSD requires all subcontractors to mandate Covid-19 vaccination with at least one booster: employees must be vaccinated or have a medical or religious exemption to initiate an accommodation and the interactive process.
