Adult Basic Education (ABE) Teacher: English Language Arts (virtual) Reports to: Director of Adult Education Part-time position, two evenings per week (Monday and Wednesday), either 5:00 - 7:00 PM or 7:15 - 9:15 PM, Academic Calendar

Non-Exempt Pay Rate: $32.45/hour, plus 45 minutes of paid planning for each class Position is open until filled / Anticipated start date is August 15, 2025 Job Description: EdAdvance is seeking a qualified instructor to teach an Adult Basic Education (ABE) English Language Arts class virtually.

Major Responsibilities: Plan and deliver remedial English Language Arts instruction, online using Google Classroom, based on an agreed-upon ABE English Language Arts curriculum Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to differentiate instruction Develop engaging and interactive lessons Use a variety of instruction strategies and activities Promote student independence and critical and creative thinking Senstive to needs of adult learners Qualifications/Requirements: Must hold a valid Connecticut 7-12 #015 English certification Must participate in College & Career Readiness Standards (CCRS) training Must complete all state-mandated training required for working with students under the age of 18 Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodations Travel: none Supervises: none
