Additional Information: Eastlake High School, home of the Wolves, isĀ seeking a dynamic and student-centered educator to serve as our Academic Intervention (0.6FTE) and Health/PE (0.4FTE) teacher forĀ 2025-2026. This unique position plays a vital role in supporting student success by addressing barriers to attendance and engagement, while also delivering high-quality instruction in Health and Physical Education.
The Academic Intervention portion of this role focuses on reducing chronic absenteeism and tardiness through proactive data monitoring, personalized support for students and families, and school-wide incentive programs. The teaching component includes one period of 9th Grade Health during the regular school day and a zero-period PE class beginning at 7:30 AM.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Intervention (0.6FTE):
Monitor, track, and analyze student attendance and tardiness data to identify trends and students in need of support
Develop and implement school-wide strategies and incentive programs aimed at improving attendance
Collaborate with administrators, counselors, teachers, and families to design individualized intervention plans for chronically absent or late students
Build strong relationships with students and families to foster engagement and accountability
Maintain accurate records and report on progress toward attendance goals
Health and PE Instruction (0.4FTE):
Teach one section of 9th Grade Health, aligned with state and district standards within the regular school
Lead a zero-period Physical Education class beginning at 7:30 AM
Create an inclusive and engaging classroom and gym environment that promotes student wellness and lifelong healthy habits
Assess and document student learning and provide meaningful feedback
Qualifications:
Valid Washington State teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements in Health and PE
Experience working with high school students, particularly in an intervention or student support capacity
Demonstrated knowledge of effective strategies for reducing chronic absenteeism preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills
Ability to analyze data to inform decisions and track outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in school-wide attendance initiatives

Salary: Paid per teacher salary schedule with Base contract plus additional contracts for LEAP days, and Responsibility. Additional Technology stipend and Professional Fund. See posted on website.
