Title: Atsa Biyaazh Community School SPED Teacher

Work site: Shiprock Associated Schools, Inc., Atsa Biyaazh Community School, 1416 Pinon Drive, Shiprock, New Mexico 87420

Duties:

Teach special education classes to elementary students at Atsa Biyaazh Community School (ABCS). Create the highest motivational, intellectual, and caring environment that promotes excellence in education. Comply with and support all Shiprock Associated Schools policies and procedures including all SASI curriculum and strategies and meet the six New Mexico State competencies. Model effective classroom management techniques and teaching strategies. Interact in an honest, trustworthy and dependable manner with students, teachers, administrators, parents and the community. Abide by all applicable Public Education standards and Navajo Nation Laws. Meets the six New Mexico State competencies. Assumes responsibility for planning, developing and implementing a special education program in accordance with PL 105-17 IDEA and to coordinate activities with the rest of the school.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in education and a valid New Mexico Special Education Teaching License. Full time.
