Position Details St. Regis Elementary School is looking for a experienced and qualified elementary teacher for the 4th grade. A mathamatics background is preferred but not necessary. A teacher at St. Regis Elementary School embodies the principles of the school’s philosophy and supports the mission and vision of the school. We seek dynamic and energetic candidates passionately committed to education and collaboration. .
Qualifications: Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate, K-5 All Subjects
Comfortable and competent teaching Math, Science, Language Arts and all other subjects
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents, and staff Professional Responsibilities Include: Teaches all subjects utilizing the AOD curriculum, state benchmarks, and national standards.
Experienced with Microsoft 365 platform
Experienced with virtual learning platforms
Has well established classroom management techniques
Maintains a safe, clean, and comfortable classroom environment
Engages students in learning through best practice strategies.
Consistently creates a high level of active student engagement and student-led learning
Establishes a consistent disciplinary approach which promotes self-direction and confidence; sets high standards for student behavior and manages inappropriate behavior effectively
Assesses students’ academic and social growth.
Assists the administration in organizing and revising curriculum.
Creates well-crafted lesson plans
Applies differentiated instruction and assessment that improves achievement for all learners in a learner-centered and collaborative environment
Uses technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process including iPads, Chromebooks, Clevertouch and online instructional platforms
Assures that technology is used in instruction and learning targets are specifically cited in each lesson.
Uses a variety of student assessment tools to gauge student understanding and will design alternate teaching techniques as a result. Performs various non-instructional duties, such as attendance, lunch duty, recess, and bus room duty.
Communicates regularly with families and implements clear communication systems Attends monthly in-service meetings, staff meetings, and committee meetings as required.
Participates in professional learning teams through memberships in school committees and grade level discussions.
Maintains positive relationships with other faculty and staff members and keeps information regarding students, parents, or school business strictly confidential.
