As a K-12 school-based Special Education Teacher in Washington, District of Columbia, your days will include:

  • Develop and deliver individualized instruction based on IEP goals.
  • Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to meet student needs.
  • Manage classroom behavior using positive behavioral supports and interventions.
  • Collaborate with related service providers, general education teachers, and families.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and parent conferences.
  • Maintain compliance with IDEA, state, and district regulations regarding special education.

Position: Contract (20252026 school year) in a school setting

Hours: Full-time (MondayFriday)

Caseload: Kindergarten8th Grade, Montessori experience preferred

Successful candidates possess:

  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education
  • An active or pending state licensure, or the ability to obtain
  • Experience in a pediatric or school setting
  • Montessori training or experience
  • The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
