This contract role offers an opportunity to work as a Special Education Teacher for 9th and 10th-grade students in a high school setting in Pittsburgh, PA. This position provides direct instructional support to a diverse caseload of approximately 22 students, including those with autism, learning disabilities, and emotional support needs. The role requires a strong commitment to supporting students academic and social development in a structured learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students in grades 9 and 10 with diverse learning profiles. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state guidelines. Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive classroom practices. Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to support learning goals. Maintain detailed student records and communicate effectively with families and administrators. Qualifications: Must hold a valid Pennsylvania Instructional I or II teaching certificate in Special Education for grades 9-12. A K-12 certification is preferred. Experience working with high school students, particularly those with autism, learning disabilities, and emotional challenges. Ability to manage a caseload of up to 25 students, currently supporting 22. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
